Bignold Primary School

Bignold Friends & Family

May be an image of text that says Welcome! As a PTFA (Parent and Teachers and Friends    Association) we are a diverse group of parents, carers, family members and friends of Bignold Primary School. Some of us went to Bignold as children, others are relatively new to Norwich, and we are always open to new members. Our work is supported by the staff at Bignold Primary & Nursery.

Together, we work to support and strengthen our school community so that all Bignold children can learn and thrive.

We do this by:

Organising fun, free family events and activities for Bignold families throughout the year

Organising fundraising activities that help us keep our community events affordable, and allow us to contribute to school enrichment

Providing financial support to the school that will directly improve the experiences of diverse Bignold students such as contributing to school outings, a new soft sofa, library books, and playground markings

Running a second hand uniform shop to support Bignold families and encourage sustainability (by voluntary donation)

Developing strong relationships with school leadership, teachers, and the wider community outside Bignold

Sponsoring specific projects like the current ‘Bignold Goes Wild’ campaign that aims to improve natural play opportunities and outdoor learning on the school grounds

Being sustainable, inclusive, and open to all

We also support key events in the school calendar such as:

September: Welcome back bubbles and treats

October: Halloween Disco December:

Big Chill Fest winter fete with Santa’s Grotto

February: Valentine Disco

March: Big Colour Run Fundraiser

May: Family Picnic

June: Lord Mayors Parade costume workshops

July: Bigfest! Summer Fete, Year 6 leavers disco and gifts

Could you spare a few hours a month?

Join the BFF!

We would love to get more people involved! We meet regularly, once a month, to organise events and fundraising efforts, and to discuss how to support the children and the school.

You do not have to commit to every event or meeting and you can be flexible with your involvement. You don't need any expertise or special skills, just enthusiasm! It is very rewarding to know that the children benefit from the fundraising by the BFF. A little of your time can make a huge difference.

We are always in need of volunteers at our events so if you don’t fancy being involved in the planning but still want to help out consider joining our Volunteers Whatsapp group to be kept up to date with volunteering opportunities.

For more information or to find out when our next meeting is, please email us at bignoldfriendsandfamily@gmail.com
