The Bridge Wraparound Care

"Building the bridge between home and school."

The Bridge is more than a breakfast and after-school club.

It is a place where children transition confidently between home and school through play, friendships, creativity, exploration and adventure.

Every day children cross The Bridge.

In the morning, The Bridge supports children as they move from home into their learning day. In the afternoon, The Bridge supports children as they leave the classroom and reconnect with play, friendships and family life.

Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child feels welcomed, valued and excited to return.

We aim to provide high-quality wraparound care that:

  • Supports children's wellbeing
  • Encourages friendships
  • Promotes independence
  • Inspires curiosity
  • Develops confidence
  • Provides opportunities for creativity and exploration
  • Offers a safe and nurturing environment
  • Supports working families

Every child should leave The Bridge feeling:

  • Happy
  • Safe
  • Included
  • Successful
  • Respected
  • Part of a community

Our Mission Statement

The Bridge provides a safe, nurturing and inspiring place where children transition between home and school through play, friendship, creativity, exploration and adventure.

Every child crossing The Bridge will feel welcomed, valued, successful and excited to return.

What Makes The Bridge Different From School?

Children spend many hours in structured learning environments.

The Bridge should feel different.

Whilst we support the values of the school, we are not extending the school day.

The Bridge IS:

  • Play-based
  • Child-focused
  • Relationship-rich
  • Safe
  • Nurturing
  • Inclusive
  • Fun
  • Creative
  • Active

The Bridge is NOT:

  • Extra lessons
  • Intervention sessions
  • A homework club by default
  • A mini classroom
  • A place where children sit for long periods

Our activities provide inspiration and enrichment around children's play experiences rather than replicating classroom learning.
